Sverre Aarrestad is a character from the Cold War II series. He is a member of the Scandinavian Alliance and the leader of its Norwegian faction and because of this, he is one of the most powerful officials in the Alliance alongside Anders Hammarberg and Hannu Elomaa.
He is also one of the primary antagonists in the series' spin off The Recruits with the aforementioned Hammarberg and Elomaa owing to the Scandinavian Alliance being the main antagonist of the series.
Sverre is a forty seven year old Norwegian army general. He is about average height and weight with fair skin, green eyes, and dark hair; his clothing consists of red trousers, a red military tunic and black office shoes with a shirt beneath his tunic.
In his first appearance, Sverre has a fairly minor role so his role is not as developed. However he is shown to have an impatient streak when Gustav Hallstrom tells him that a demonstration of an escape pod he has devised will take time.
Once it activates however, he reacts with delight and amazement and further is shown to enjoy what the pod is going to be used for before it is even used.
The Cold War II series
Agent to Prisoner
At the beginning of the story Agent to Prisoner Sverre is shown standing with not one of his own men but the Swedish scientist Gustav Hallstrom who is prepared to demonstrate a new product he has devised and with the demonstration is also an un-named Finnish man. The Norwegian general tells him to begin the demonstration which does not go down too well because to Sverre, nothing appears to happen.
That is, until the plane begins to dive at which point an ejection pod flies out of the plane to Sverre's astonishment and delight. Gustav further explains his product to Sverre and asks if he has impressed him to which Sverre responds by stating the pod will be put to "good use". Though he and Hannu Elomaa are allies, they have a short boast when the latter claims that he has sent one of the Alliance's best people on the mission to kidnap two applicants for the E.I.N.
Sverre finally appears at the end with Elomaa in front of Anders Hammarberg who has seen the video and alongside Elomaa, Aarrestad is congratulated for his planning of the operation.
