Clementine Galbraith is a character from the Surgeon stories. She is a member of a group of students that are part of a resistance group fighting the Great Intelligence; alongside her fellow students, Clementine returns in The Mammal Wars.

She is a twenty one year old British student with black hair, brown eyes and fair skin. In contrast to the other girls in her group which are herself, Abigail Huntsman, Christabel Davenport, Felicity Barbrige and Hester Cartridge Clementine's clothing consists of black tights, black slip on shoes and a black dress like garment with a thin black belt across her waist.

In The Mammal Wars, Clementine keeps her tights, shoes and belt but her dress is now purple and she also wears a fur coat.

Alongside two other students Eleanor Davidson who is in the captivity of the Great Intelligence and Clarissa Wainwright who is a servant of the Intelligence, Clementine is often seen as a bit of an outsider particularly among her own group because of her clothing.

However, this feeling of outcast-ness is not commonly felt or pronounced among the students because of Abigail's tendency to treat all of her student equally. It is also unknown if any of the other students dress alike and whether Clementine is a full outcast.

The Surgeon stories:

The Yeti Factor:

Clementine is first seen among a group of five girls who launch an attack on Greyfriar's Kirkyard where they also allow the Surgeon and his now sole companion Ghazal Rashidi from an attack of a group of Robot Yeti. Alongside the other girls, she is shown fighting off the Yeti with bullets and when Abigail orders a withdraw the girls send in their own Yeti to fight the Yeti controlled by the Intelligence into the graveyard.

She later retreats with her group to Edinburgh Castle and is the second girl to be introduced by Abigail. However, before Ghazal can ask why they brought them to Edinburgh Castle Abigail recalls the girls elsewhere. This location is the Kirk of the Canongate which is the home of the girls.

The chapel is also home to more girls, women and men with men being dressed in both military fatigue and tight clothing and leathers much like all the other girls in the chapel. Clementine's group is taken to meet their second in command Amelia Bedingfield and their leaders order their groups to merge once Amelia's group introduces themselves to the Surgeon and Ghazal before they are finally dismissed and mix with other people in the room.

Once Hester and Kierra return however, Clementine is ordered to rally with the students and be ready for a final battle between the resistance and the Great Intelligence. The girls eventually destroy the Intelligence even when the Surgeon abandons them to the alien.

The Mammal Wars:

Return to Buckinghamshire:

Clementine returns in The Mammal Wars alongside the rest of the Students from her first appearance where this time, the students are changed to criminals who have the same aspirations as the Romanian sisterhood in Defenders of Earth; to join the Vixens but in the case of Clementine's group, it is the Western Vixens.

Like the others, she is first seen at Buckinghamshire New University which has been abandoned since a month before the events of Return to Buckinghamshire and is used as the Angel's headquarters. In the story, Galbraith is first seen at a speech about to be given by her leader which would have been carried off without a hitch if it wasn't for the sound of a roar and a giggle.

In fact, Abigail manages to carry off the speech without a hitch which is released to raucous amounts of applause and cheering...but the second part of the speech is not so fortunate because of the sound of a roar outside, the appearance of a shadow cat, another shadowy animal and the sound of whooping possibly from the latter. In High Wycombe, the Angels as well as the whole of Buckinghamshire ignore the warning to stay at home and instead come out in the open to see "Superfox" as their children call him.

But it's also here where the Angels and most of Buckinghamshire see more of the whooping animal; they see that it has a sloping spine which makes it out to be some kind of hyena, but that's it. The only other thing that the animal receives is a name, courtesy of Felicity Barbrige who names it "Jomnune".

The Angels are forced to watch another animal appear: The Shadow Cat as Clementine Galbraith calls it but what Felicity Barbrige calls Vlaasarak who actually goes to fight Jomnune alongside Seslinian. Once the fight goes to Sheephouse Wood, Abigail declares that the Angels will expand even with the threat of The Mammal Wars.

Outback Vixen:

Along with the rest of the Angels, Clementine is forced undercover by a combination of Jomnune and the British government who have activated Operation Temperer which has deployed 2,550 armed police officials on the streets all over the United Kingdom, forcing not only the Angels undercover but the organization which they wish to integrate themselves into: The British Vixens.

Despite this though, the Angels are still determined not to let this stop their expansion and during a speech made by her leader, she takes her place in front of Abigail with the rest of the Angels and cheers as Abigail makes the declaration of:

"I promised that the Angels would get an expansion, and Abigail has always kept her promises. Jomnune may have forced police onto the streets but he hasn't taken away our freedom and if we are to get into the Vixens then we have to be brave. This time, neither soldier nor hyena will prevent us from expanding! And that is not a promise but it is something that will happen!"

The Siege of Sheephouse Wood:

Following on from Outback Vixen, Clementine remains as part of the Angels where she is first seen in the Buckinghamshire New University gym in front of a projection of the face of Claribel Bloodworth, the now leader of the British Vixen branch, having previously served in the military in The Super Soldiers.

Now as part of the Angels, Claribel orders Clementine to reveal her captive which Galbraith does when she unmasks the Angels' fifth prisoner Natasha Hunt.
